Meet Gary, Rehab Tech at Golden State Medical Center in San Ramon CA

Gary is one of our rehab techs. He specializes in Hatha Yoga and group training and has various certifications in personal training. Gary went through lots of physical and stress-related challenges, which is how he found the benefits of yoga. The physical aspect of Hatha yoga helped him heal from a lot of his past injuries, such as intense workouts, marathon training, and a full-time office job. He realized how yoga could help with releasing stress and pain on all levels.

To learn and understand holistic yogic science, he took an elite yoga teacher’s training course at Sivananda International Yoga Vedanta Center. He later served at the Sivananda San Francisco Centre for about a year and learned the practical, in-depth therapeutic application of yoga. Gary also worked as a yoga teacher and fitness trainer for pain management in an integrative medical clinic under the supervision of medical doctors for 4 years. Currently, Gary is assisting the providers as a rehab tech at Golden State Medical Center in San Ramon.

His expertise is in posture correction and alignment, coordination of movement, stretching for a sedentary lifestyle, chair yoga, and pain management.

Besides being an ERYT 500 certified yoga teacher, he is also a NASM certified personal trainer, an ACE Fitness Group Fitness Instructor, and a TRX (Black Rank) Advanced Group Trainer. Instructor-Classical Hatha Yoga, All-Level, Gentle Yoga. He is certified in Yoga Alliance ERYT 500, NASM-CPT, ACE-GFI, and TRX (Black Rank) Advanced Group Trainer.
